South Carolina by way of Ireland musician and songsmith Aaron J. Burke may be the least pigeonholed artist to emerge from the Carolinas in quite some time. His past solo releases ‘These Are The Reasons For All Of My Wrongdoings These Past Few Years’ and ‘Corvine: Columns & Verses’ highlight his advanced fingerpicking paired with a deeply resonant vocal delivery. Sitting beautifully atop his uniquely crafted arrangements are the thought-evoking lyrics that cover an array of topics that seem both personal and universal. All the while remaining undeniably poetic in nature. Though his solo efforts certainly speak for themselves, his musical output is far from limited to solo endeavors. His full band post-punk outfit Gláss has been a much beloved staple of the SC scene for years. ‘Young Pier Jumpers’ by Aaron J. Burke is out now via Comfort Monk.
