DEAR BLANCA

Dear Blanca began as the primary musical outlet for South Carolina’s Dylan Dickerson. The project evolved into a three-piece outfit that treads a fine line between 70’s power-pop and proto-punk. A powerhouse rhythm section comprised of Cam Powell and Richie Harper provides a backbone of taut grooves that underly the emotionally diverse catalog of songs. In 2020, the band released their third LP ‘Perched’ which features an appearance by Mike Watt of the legendary Minutemen/The Stooges. Throughout 2021 and 2022, the band toured the East Coast, West Coast & Canada with the comedy rock group The Sloppy Boys (Los Feliz, CA) in support of their critically praised concert album ‘Thank You So Much, We’re Dear Blanca: Live’. In 2023, Dear Blanca performed with Laura Jane Grace of Against Me! and and at Hopscotch Music Festival in Raleigh, NC alongside acts such as Pavement, Dinosaur Jr., Japanese Breakfast and more. After Dickerson & Powell lost in a much-anticipated tennis doubles match against Stephen Malkmus & Bob Nastanovich of the band Pavement, Dear Blanca returned home to lick their wounds and release their new EP, ‘Nothing You Do Is Quiet’. The EP features cover artwork by the iconic Raymond Pettibon (Sonic Youth, Black Flag) and is a refreshing departure from their more guitar-oriented work.
